Soul Surfer

Soul Surfer tells the true story of Bethany Hamilton.  At 13, she was attacked by a shark and lost her arm.  Determined to continue surfing, with the help and support from her parents, she gets back up and does what she never thought was possible: surf with one arm. Movie genre:Action, Drama, SportRated:PGOpening date:April 8, 2011Starring:AnnaSophia Robb, Denis Quaid, Helen Hunt, Craig T. Nelson and Carrie UnderwoodDirector:Sean McNamaraTobacco use (How often throughout the movie?):N/AAnnaSophia Robb (who plays Bethany Hamilton) does a fantastic job of portraying Bethany in the movie.  She captures the emotion, and the determination that makes the movie so motivating and inspiring.  The actors gave their best performances, as you can really feel the struggles of the Hamilton family.  At the end of the movie, clips of Bethany surfing play on the screen which makes this movie even more surreal. The thing I loved most about Soul Surfer was the fact that even when I got home after, I still couldn’t stop thinking about the movie.  Most films, you quickly forget about them; but the message I got from Soul Surfer really stuck with me.Throughout the whole movie, my eyes were glued to the screen. I think that this movie was well put together, and really captivates the audience.  I would definitely recommend this movie to teens and adults; it’s a great movie that everyone should see.
